Hi there! It’s been a while since I got so excited about a foundation I had to share it almost immediately after trying, well, ok I tried it yesterday, so it’s not quite immediate, but you get the gist.
You know how I have always been a fan of dewy lightweight foundations? I’m also kinda intrigued by dropper type foundations and have always wanted to get the Giorgio Armani one but never got to it. Well, I guess I don’t need that now because I found a new favourite.
The New MAC Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation!
It comes in a solid thick frosted glass bottle which feels solid enough that I think it might be ok to travel with if you have the extra weight left in your luggage. I know.. I always talk about how products being travel friendly because that’s quite important to me since I travel quite a bit and I want to have my favourite products with me.
There are 23 shades in the line and they have the same colour shades as their regular Studio foundations. I am in NC30 and I think the shades are all pretty consistent so it would be easy for you to pick.
The latest product in our Studio lineup that blows competition out of the water – MAC Cosmetics
This foundation comes with SPF 30, is an innovative foundation that delivers colour in an ultra-fluid, elegantly thin, elastic gel serum formula. The addition of Moisture Fusion Complex provides immediate and all-day hydration, leaving skin feeling quenched and soft, supple, silky to the touch.
Of course, with the above claims, I was immediately drawn to this – lightweight, dropper, serum, moisture >> GIVE IT TO ME!
The texture of the foundation is very lightweight, it provides a nice dewy finish upon application. Coverage wise, I would say it’s sheer to medium and very buildable. I used about 1 -1.5 drops for the full face, perhaps a little more than I normally would because I was stopping to snap pictures for this post.
The bottle comes with standard 30ml of product and retails for $62. It will be available at all MAC counters from 11 September.
I tried it with a brush yesterday and it was very easy to blend. I was actually quite surprised that the coverage was pretty decent and very buildable given how lightweight it feels. I wouldn’t say it’s as lightweight as the NARS Weightless Foundation but it definitely feels more hydrating than all other water-based foundations I’ve tried. This foundation felt a little like the Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation which I love as well. Enough talking.. I shall let the following pictures speak for themselves.
I don’t have any acne, scars or skin problems apart from some freckles on my cheekbones, the tiny scar from this wart which I had lasered off some time back. But as you can see from the pictures, it does cover and even out my skintone making me look fresh and glowy which I love.
In terms of lasting power, I don’t think it lasts very well because I could see some wear around my nose after about 8-10 hours. But hey, this is pretty normal and for the lovely finish, I’ll live with it!
I think this foundation would be suitable for all skin types.
And here’s the complete look, real simple weekend look before I headed out for dinner.
